Visitations

The Clergy’s responsibilities are not limited to presiding over services in the church. There are many times that it is appropriate to call upon the Clergy to offer prayers in our homes, businesses, or in times of great need. Below is a guide on some of these occasions, though it is not meant to be exhaustive. If you are in need of a pastoral visitation, please contact the Clergy by calling the Cathedral Office (404-633-5870) or schedule an appointment via email.

In Times of Sickness and Death

Sickness: If you or someone in your family is in the hospital, you should contact the Clergy to ask for a visit and prayer. The priest will offer the sacraments. If the illness is life threatening he may also hear the patient’s Confession and offer the sacrament of Holy Communion.

Surgery: If you are planning a surgery, please contact the Clergy in advance of your operation so that they can offer prayers with you and anoint you as well. Click on button below for more information.

Home Bound/Nursing Home: If there is a family member who is home bound or in a nursing and they would like to be added to our visitation list or are in need of a visit, please contact the Clergy.

Death: If a loved one passes away, contact the Clergy and then click below for more information.

Babies

Pregnancy: Contact the Clergy so that they can bless the mother and keep her perpetually in their prayers.

Miscarriage:  If you have suffered a miscarriage contact the Clergy so that the customary prayers of healing for the mother and the repose of the infant can be read.

Birth: When the baby is born, contact the Clergy to recite the customary prayers for the protection and safety of the Mother on the day of birth. Additional prayers will be read at the 40 day blessing.
