Dancer Commitment and Conduct Contract
Purpose
As a member of the Annunciation Cathedral Greek Dance Ministry, each dancer represents the values, spirit, and excellence of our community. This contract outlines expectations for participation, behavior, performance, and contribution, to be agreed upon by all registered dancers.
I. Attendance Requirements
Dancer will abide by attendance requirements stated below. If maximum absence allotment is exceeded, instructor(s) retain the right to reevaluate performance participation
Pre-Festival Season (All Groups):
- Maximum of 3 absences.
- No carry-over of missed sessions to post-festival season.
Post-Festival Season (Competitive Groups Only):
- Maximum of 5 absences.
Workshops:
- Absences from scheduled workshops may count toward your seasonal total.
- Participation is expected unless pre-approved by instructor(s).
II. Behavior, Discipline & Respect
Each group’s instructor(s) will establish expectations and may issue discipline as needed. General behavioral guidelines apply to all.
Progressive Discipline Policy:
- 1st Offense: Removal from 25% of the upcoming performance.
- 2nd Offense: Removal from 50% of the upcoming performance.
- 3rd Offense: Disqualification from the upcoming performance.
Examples of unacceptable conduct:
- Disrespectful language or attitude
- Repeated disruptions during practice
- Failure to follow instructor direction
- Disrespect of practice or performance spaces
III. Skill and Performance Readiness
Dance instructors reserve the right to evaluate dancers’ readiness to perform.
Performance Criteria:
- Dancers must execute choreography at 80% accuracy or higher.
- Emphasis will be on quality, not quantity.
- Evaluations are at the discretion and expertise of the instructor(s).
IV. Volunteerism & Contribution Requirements
Each dancer’s registration includes a volunteer commitment, measured in volunteer units. These units represent your active support of the program, parish events, and community efforts.
Volunteer Unit Requirements by Group:
- Zouzounia (K-2nd) – 2 units
- Pyrotechnimata (3rd-5th) – 3 units
- Vimata (6th-8th) – 4 units
- Kinisi (9th-12th)– 8 units
- Areti (Adults)– 10 units
- Just for Fun (Adults) – 1 unit
Failure to Complete Units:
- Dancers not fulfilling their unit obligation will incur a volunteer fine; for every unit incomplete per dancer, $10 will be fined.
Sample Volunteer Opportunities:
- Atlanta Greek Festival:
- Escorting groups to/from stage
- Supervising dressing areas
- Costume assistance
- Selling AGF memorabilia
- December Fundraiser (Carlos Hall):
- Selling tickets for NYE event
- Selling baked goods, wreaths, bows
- New Year’s Eve Gala:
- Serve on planning committee
- Volunteer during the event
- Fundraising Performances
V. Facility Stewardship
- Keep church and practice spaces clean
- Remove all personal items and trash
VI. Acknowledgment and Agreement
