HISTORY AND ARCHIVES COMMITTEE

Participation open to: Everyone
Meetings are held: Occasionally, as the need arises.
Purpose: To preserve the history of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, to collect and conserve all significant documents, materials, media files, photographs, objects and official records in archival fashion; to conduct periodic exhibitions; to educate the community about its history; to conduct oral history interviews; to organize all of our materials and make them available for research.
Activities: Occasionally, the Committee has special exhibits in the History and Archives room located on the Second floor of the Hellenic Center. In the past, the committee has sponsored a genealogical symposium.
MAIL CREW

Mailings are done: As warranted by the Cathedral Office
Purpose: To help prepare the large amount of bulk mail that leaves the Cathedral Office.
NEWCOMERS AND WELCOME COMMITTEE

Participation open to: Everyone
Purpose: To welcome all newcomers and visitors to our Cathedral during Divine Liturgy on Sundays, and to also prepare the welcome packets that are given out to those newcomers, and help them become integrated into our parish family.
OUTREACH MINISTRIES

Participation open to: Everyone
Meetings are held: On the 3rd Thursday of every month in the Kafenion, from September to May.
Purpose: To assist people in need, to the best of our ability, both inside and outside our parish and Orthodox Faith; where our efforts will have the greatest impact.
Activities: Ongoing food collection for St. John the Wonderworker Orthodox Church. Preparing and serving food at the Trinity United Methodist Church Soup Kitchen, twice a year. Our House, Inc.: Back to School supply drive; I.O.C.C. (International Orthodox Christian Charities): Loaves and Fishes Program, the Sunday School Christmas Project, Walk/Run for I.O.C.C. and “Souper Bowl” Sunday. Other projects include: Clothing Drive for Savanna Street Mission, Greek Festival Raffle, Diaper Drive to benefit Our House Incorporated, and bake sales to benefit Orthodox Monasteries in the Holy Land.
REAL ESTATE AND CEMETERY COMMITTEE

Meetings are held: As warranted
Purpose: to conduct research and provide relevant information to the Parish about its properties, and respond to inquiries about zoning, property lines, etc.; to maintain diagrams of and coordinate burial-plot sales for the Greek Orthodox sections of Greenwood Cemetery.
SPIRITUAL LIFE COMMITTEE

Meetings are held:
Purpose: to enhance the spiritual growth and life of our parish family.
Activities: Sponsors the “Wednesday Nite Life” held at the Cathedral. Organization of parish retreats, and other spiritual programming, guest speakers, etc., under guidance of the clergy.
STEWARDSHIP COMMITTEE

Participation open to: Everyone
Meetings are held: The first Monday of every month (unless otherwise noted) in the Zakas Conference room.
Purpose: to cultivate a spirit of generosity in Christian giving, to engage parishioners and create awareness of the goals and mission of the parish, and their responsibilities toward the Church, and support of its ministries, thereby enhancing their participation in Parish life.
