The Hellenic Tower is a 125 apartment facility for persons 62 years of age or older, sponsored by the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation in Atlanta. Residents pay 30% of their adjusted income in rent, which includes all utilities except telephone and cable TV. Rents are subsidized by the Federal Government through the Section 202, Section 8 program of the Department of Housing and Urban Development. There are income limits for residency, which are determined by the median income of metro Atlanta/Fulton County. Each apartment is 540 square feet with living room/dining room combination, bedroom, kitchen, large bathroom and walk-in closet. Stove, refrigerator, carpet and mini-blinds are furnished.
Staffing includes a Resident Relations/Activity Coordinator. A geriatric nurse provides health counseling, blood pressure and weight monitoring weekly. She coordinates a wellness program consisting of informational programs and various health screening opportunities. A bus takes residents grocery shopping twice a week as well as to other activities away from the facility.
Additional amenities include laundry rooms and lounges on each floor, beauty shop, library, convenience store and media room. Public transportation and shopping are also conveniently located close to the facility.
