The immigrant Church has now grown up. Its story has been one of dedication and hard work, of hope and inspiration. But it does not end here, for there are new and greater challenges ahead. A viable Greek Orthodox Church, with a spiritually involved and concerned people, will continue to meet these challenges with the same determined sense of purpose. That is its history, its tradition. The Annunciation Cathedral Parish of Atlanta has proved this to date and in the dedication of its new Church structure, surely one of its finest hours, is justifiably proud and undeniably full of new promise.

That new promise was evident when a new chapter in the history of our parish started on Sunday, October 4th, 1998, when a Parish General Assembly voted to give authority to the Parish Council to sell the existing Hellenic Community Center and plan for the future on the land adjacent to the Cathedral on Clairmont Road.

The plans were finalized and construction commenced. The completed buildings, named the Thalia N. Carlos Hellenic Community Center, and the I. Pano Karatassos Family Youth Center are scheduled for dedication on November 23rd, 2002.

The Atlanta Cathedral Parish is rapidly approaching its Centennial year in 2005!
